Slacking Off
Yup. I’ve been doing a pretty good job of that lately.
I started writing a post about the 4th of July weekend, but never posted it. For that matter, I never finished it. It will just sit there in cyber space purgatory.
I guess I should put something here, if only to make me feel better about my lack of blogging productivity.
Things have been busy lately. Busy in a good way.
On the 3rd, Nadia and I hung out with “the group” at Gena’s and had a BBQ. The food was awesome and the company complimented it. We had a great time eating, drinking and playing card games.
The next day we went to the Air Force Academy to watch the fireworks show, but the weather got too bad to even try to stay. There were extreme weather warnings to go with the rain, hail and winds. We stayed as long as we could tolerate the wetness, but finally gave up. As it turns out, the fireworks show went on without us. So we went back to Gena’s for more hanging out, drinking and cards. Good times!
This week Nadia and I got together with Jaz and some of his friends for a pie baking contest in Old Colorado City. We ended up with 13 pieces of pie to sample between the 6 of us. Needless to say, there was pie left over when we were all sugar overloaded.
Yesterday, Nadia and I got together with “the group” again and went to the rodeo. It surprised me to realize that, though I grew up in Idaho, I had never been to a rodeo.
As it turned out, Nadia had never been to one either. Also, she didn’t Google what a rodeo is, so she was shocked and a bit sad to see people ropingĀ and wrestling calves and bulls. I think, by the end, she had settled in and accepted the whole event. I would go so far as to say that she had a good time!
Okay. Done. New blog post finally posted. Maybe I can quit making excuses now.

I did enjoy a little at the end. It just got me when they were pulling and twisting all these Tony-looking things

All those “Tony-looking things” are fine. They are used to being roped and wrestled
