It was less than a week ago when I posted about my first interaction with Klout and the low score I had. Since then I’ve done just a few simple things and my Klout score has jumped more than 30 points. The first thing I did was make sure that all of the accounts that Klout supports were added to my Klout account. Each time I was finished with adding a social media, I was returned to my account screen on Klout and was greeted with a pop up window inviting me to share my new account joining. I made sure to either tweet or Facebook (or sometimes both) each of those events. Pretty simple right? After that I started blogging again about what had been going on recently in my life. I hadn’t blogged much, if at all, in the last 8 or 9 months. You can read my [...]

As I start to make my transition from building websites to marketing and advertising them I’ve started looking into the other parts of the internet that I’ve almost entirely neglected over the past several years. I had no idea how far behind the curve I am until recently. Even though I’ve built some great websites for other people, I’ve done essentially nothing to build my own online presence. There are plenty of ways out there to do it, but I’ve never even bothered for a few different reasons: 1. I’ve spent the last few years helping others build their own online presence and have given them the foundations with which to do so. Doing that takes a lot of time and effort and, as a result, I’ve not afforded myself the time or opportunity to work on my own online foundation. 2. I’ve always been a “behind the scenes” kind [...]

I finished my second week of working with Art at ReachLocal a couple of days ago and I’m off to do a week of corporate training in Dallas tomorrow. Should be a good time and an opportunity to do some networking. Last Friday, the 4th, I traded in my 2002 Ford Focus for a 2012 Kia Forte. It’s a great car and a lot of fun to drive. It’s got all the bells and whistles that I wanted in a car and I just got the windows tinted today.

It’s been a long time since I’ve written anything on here. I keep meaning to, but always find an excuse. My day usually consists of going to the office and spending 7-10 hours a day building websites for Q2. Once I’m done there I come home and sit at the make-shift office I have setup in my kitchen and I spend another 4-7 hours a night building websites for my clients. Then it’s off to bed for a few hours of sleep and then I’m off again to start the day over again. Don’t get me wrong, I love building websites and I go out at least a couple nights a week (if nothing else but to make sure I don’t end up being a complete hermit) and I have a pretty decent social life. Honestly, I feel pretty fortunate that I’m able to do the stuff I do. But [...]

Before I went on vacation I decided that I needed to get serious about getting to the gym. Well, now I’m back and followed through with my decision. I joined Pikes Peak CrossFit and had my first “on-ramp” class today. I knew that I was out of shape, but damn. The first 40 minutes or so was all introductory to learn how to do some of the exercises. That went pretty well and I felt good about it. Then there was a “base-line” workout that consisted of: 400 meter run 10 pull-ups 20 push-ups 30 sit-ups 40 squats The whole thing took me just under 13 minutes. In the grand scheme of things it was really, really sad. I was a bit winded by the end of the run. The pull-ups were assisted and were basically 1 at a time with very little form. The push-ups were a bit better [...]

So after I got all setup with MediaTemple and had made the decision to switch, there ended up being some issues that kept me from going with them as the hosting provider for my sites as well as the site of my clients. The first issue was one that made me feel as though I had been a bit misled. They told me that they had a fully automated billing system that came as an included feature with the reseller service. Though this was true, they didn’t tell me that in order to use it I would have to buy an SSL to get all of the functionality out of it. Also, when I had questions about integrating it into their reseller service, they told me that because it was a third-party application that they didn’t support it. The other issue is that they run on a Plesk server setup. [...]

Normally when it’s been almost 3 months between blog posts I try to come up with some excuse as to why and some promise that it won’t happen again. Not this time. I’ve been busy with work at the office as well as my own clients and side projects. Sometimes the last thing I want to do is spend more time at a computer. I won’t say a lot has happened since my last blog post, but the little that has happened has been exciting. I finally booked my flight to Scotland! I’m leaving July 31st and I’ll be returning on the 14th. We’ve got all kinds of stuff planned and I can’t wait to get over there and start the adventure! I keep thinking I’m going to add more to this but it’s been sitting with the above content for a solid day. Ready, set, GO!

I’ve been with HostGator (henceforth known as HG) since April of 2008. There were three main reasons for my signing up with them: 1. They had a special sign-up deal of only 1 penny for the first month. 2. I needed a reseller hosting account. 3. I didn’t do nearly enough research. In all fairness, they were fine for the first year or so. I might even give them a year and a half of good service. I even suggested them to lots of people. Within the last few months, things have gotten bad. Day after day of down-time. I spent hours of time in support chat being told that their admins were “aware of the situation” and they were “doing eveything they could get the situation fixed.” I’ve spent the last couple of weeks doing research. Lots of it. I narrowed my results down to RackSpace and Media Temple. [...]

So I think I’ve come up with the perfect combination of Isa Products to give me the endurance for a good run in the mornings. But it actually starts the night before. About an hour before bed I take a shot of Ionix® Supreme and a shot of Cleanse for Life™ along with a IsaLean® Shake and an IsaFlush®. I follow this with at least 8 ounces of water. In the morning I roll out of bed repeat the same recipe and then hit the gym about 30 minutes later. I’ve noticed on the days that I do this, I’m able to run for a LOT longer and I feel MUCH less exhausted throughout the run and my recovery times are next to nothing. Anyway, if anyone has any input on this, please share!

…or treadmill in this case. So it’s been almost 15 days since the last time I posted anything on here. Somehow I managed to lose sight of my weight loss and fitness goals somewhere near the beginning of that 15 days. I managed to revert back to my old eating habits for the most part and I suffered for it a bit. My attitude deteriorated and my sleep patterns went to almost non-existent. Over the weekend I decided that I needed to get my act together and get back on track with eating right, going to the gym and (hopefully) sleeping better and on a more regular schedule. I went food shopping over the weekend and bought healthy foods like salmon, brown rice, green vegetables, fruits and juices. I spent a bit of extra money to make sure that what I was getting was (for the most part) organic. When [...]
