Day 15

I posted something on Facebook on Wednesday that mentioned adding 3 minutes to my normal morning run as a start to building my cardio endurance. So that morning I ran a little over a mile in 15 minutes and felt pretty good about it.

Last night was the end of my first 2 day Isagenix Cleanse. It wasn’t as bad as I anticipated. The idea was the only intake I was to have was water and a pre-defined regimen of Isagenix products. I also slipped in a couple of apples and some celery, but don’t tell anyone.

I spent the latter half of the first day being kind of hungry and a little less than that amount of time yesterday. So it seemed to get a bit better. Overall, I survived.

This morning I got up and went through my normal Isa-routine and headed to the gym.

I set myself on the treadmill for my normal 12 minute mile just to get started. I could always adjust the speed as needed. As it turned out, I did adjust the speed, but it wasn’t until the very end. I spent the rest of the time on the treadmill adding more time instead of speed.

What was supposed to be 12 minutes and a single mile turned into 24 minutes and 2 miles. After the 10 minute mark, I started feeling really good and just wanted to keep running.

As the timer got within about 30 seconds of 24 minutes I started wondering if I was going to actually hit 2 miles so I bumped up the speed to 5.5mph and managed to time the 2 miles and 24 minutes exactly.

So, the day before I started the 2 day cleanse, I got on the scale so I would have an accurate representation of how much weight I would actually lose. I weighed in at 204. Maybe I should have had a shake the night before instead of an actual meal since I had gained 1.2 pounds.

This morning after my run (when I always weigh myself) I weighed in at 199.2 pounds. That’s almost 5 pounds on the 2 day cleanse.

Okay. Time to get to work, but I wanted to document this morning for me (and whoever else reads my blog).

  2. Thanks, Ruthi! The thing I’ve learned is that changing your diet is all about commitment. Good luck on the gluten-free diet. I’ve never done that, but I know people who have and they’ve had great results from it! hugs!
