So after I got all setup with MediaTemple and had made the decision to switch, there ended up being some issues that kept me from going with them as the hosting provider for my sites as well as the site of my clients.
The first issue was one that made me feel as though I had been a bit misled. They told me that they had a fully automated billing system that came as an included feature with the reseller service.
Though this was true, they didn’t tell me that in order to use it I would have to buy an SSL to get all of the functionality out of it. Also, when I had questions about integrating it into their reseller service, they told me that because it was a third-party application that they didn’t support it.
The other issue is that they run on a Plesk server setup. I’ve got nothing against Plesk, but I’m much more familiar with cPanel and migrating my clients’ sites from cPanel to Plesk would have been much more time consuming and frustrating in the long run.
There were things that I liked about MediaTemple, though. The speed at which their servers run is great. The customer service is top-notch. I even like the user interface of their customer area.
After doing some more research and getting a recommendation, I ended up switching my entire hosting platform to VPS Latch.
They offer cPanel hosting and their prices are reasonable. They also run a fully managed hosting service but still offer their VPS clients root access to their accounts. So, basically, if I want to I can log in and make the changes I want. On the other hand, if I want or need someone else to take care of something they will do it. And they do things in a very short amount of time.

Normally when it’s been almost 3 months between blog posts I try to come up with some excuse as to why and some promise that it won’t happen again.
Not this time.
I’ve been busy with work at the office as well as my own clients and side projects. Sometimes the last thing I want to do is spend more time at a computer.
I won’t say a lot has happened since my last blog post, but the little that has happened has been exciting.
I finally booked my flight to Scotland! I’m leaving July 31st and I’ll be returning on the 14th. We’ve got all kinds of stuff planned and I can’t wait to get over there and start the adventure!
I keep thinking I’m going to add more to this but it’s been sitting with the above content for a solid day. Ready, set, GO!

Well since I’ve had such great results from Isagenix I decided to start doing more than blog about it and talk about it all the time. I’ve decided to be a associate. Basically that means that I’ll be selling it to people and (hopefully) helping them more than just telling them about it.
I’m currently in the process of building my Isagenix site, but I thought I’d post a link to it here so that anyone who happens to read this blog would find my new associate site.
Here’s the link: http://isagenixbydavid.com

If you get a chance, take a look and let me know what you think. I’m still adding products, but if you see other stuff let me know.
Thanks!

After a very long wait, we have launched a new version of Q2 Interactive Media.
The old site was up and stale for way too long. The colors were dark, the content was old and overall it just didn’t represent who we were as a team at Q2.
Take a look:

Q2 Interactive Media is a website design, development, hosting and new media company in Colorado Springs.
If you need a new website developed, company branding or help with your social media, call Q2 Interactive Media so we can get you started on rebuilding your website and your business!
Be sure to check out the Q2 Interactive Media Portfolio page to see all the cool projects we’ve worked on.

I’ve had several types of fish over the last year, but never had cichlids.
Anyway, the other day I was on Craigslist (as I do when I’m bored) and I ran across an ad by a guy who was selling electric yellow cichlids for $3 each (or 5 for $10).
I emailed him and, long story short, I’m now the proud owner of 5 of these cool little fish.
Here’s a video:
Electric Yellow Cichlids getting settled into their new home.
After I’m sure they will be okay, I’m going to take them to the new office and setup the tank they are currently in there.

I’ve been toying with the idea of taking a vacation at some point in 2011. A real vacation. Away from work and phones and computers and all that.
I think I’ve got it nailed down.
I think I’m going to Scotland in August. I’ve priced airfare and the prices aren’t bad. Plus I’ll have to get a passport, but that’s not that much either.
All said and done, I’m looking at about $1600 for the trip plus whatever shopping I may want to do. I’ve got a place to stay already so that makes the trip quite a bit cheaper.
Of course, that’s if I buy my tickets now.
Time to start budgeting.
I looked at my budget just now and realized how much money I’m throwing away each month. The number makes me sick. I’m not even going to put it up here…
So if I can save around $500 per month (based on that sickening number this shouldn’t be TOO hard) over the next few months, I can go.
I’m planning on going in August, so I have some times. Also, if you want to get me something for my birthday (also in August) but just aren’t sure what to get me, you can DONATE to my Birthday/Scotland Fund.
Thanks!
